A little pre-work before a DiSC\u00ae session means you can skip the slow start and go straight into real conversation. It also helps the people who like to think before they speak, often the C and S styles, who may say little if they’re asked for an instant reaction.<\/p>\n
A short email before people take the assessment answers most of their questions:<\/p>\n
If some learners have taken another DISC-based test before, mention that their results may differ, because Everything DiSC uses updated research and methods. If they know some other models, explain that DiSC measures different things.<\/p>\n
Ask people to jot down answers to two or three questions, such as \u201cWhat is the team doing well?\u201d and \u201cWhere have we had friction recently?\u201d. You’ll have real material to work with from the first minute.<\/p>\n
If learners see their profile before the session, ask them to read the Your DiSC Style section and note three kinds of reactions:<\/p>\n

This is one of the best forms of pre-work there is. Wiley’s Dr. Mark Scullard has recorded a podcast for each DiSC style, explaining how the style thinks, what drives it and how it works with others. Learners on Catalyst find the audio about their own style right in their account. As a certified practitioner, you’ll find the whole podcast series in the DiSC Knowledge Hub<\/a> and can share it with your group.<\/p>\n Ask learners to listen to their own style first, then to one or two styles they work with a lot.
