DiSC® is a model that explains human behaviour. It describes different behavioural styles and preferences.

A DiSC profile is a feedback report on a person’s behaviour for which one must fill in a questionnaire. DiSC profiles can be used in teams or individually. Learn more about the different DiSC profiles.

Each person has a natural behavioural style

There are no good or bad DiSC behavioural styles; rather, there are good or not so good skills to manage your own natural behavioural style.

In some situations, your own natural behavioural style is the best one. In other situations, things don’t go so smoothly and you need to consciously adapt your behaviour – to act in a way that does not come naturally to you.

Once you are familiar with yours and others’ natural behaviour and know how to adapt accordingly, you will be able to work with others better and more effectively. This is exactly what the DiSC tools are for.

DiSC is a very simple—and memorable—model made up of four basic styles: D, i, S, and C.

(Dominance) – direct, results-oriented, strong-willed and forceful
(influence) – outgoing, enthusiastic, optimistic and lively
S (Steadiness) – even-tempered, accommodating, patient and humble
C (Conscientiousness) – meticulous, reserved, precise and systematic

The DiSC theory was established by Dr. William Marston from Columbia University. It was further developed, among others by Dr. John Geier and Inscape Publishing in cooperation with the University of Minnesota, and now Everything DiSC (a Wiley brand), which specialises in the creation of development tools and in scientific research.

Wiley has been researching and analysing DiSC for over 40 years. You’ll always know it’s our DiSC from our signature lower-cased “i” in DiSC.

As technology has evolved, DiSC has too.

Our online DiSC assessments use the most advanced assessment method (adaptive testing) and sophisticated algorithms to quickly analyse a person’s responses and provide the most personalised DiSC feedback possible. And the assessments usually only take about 15 minutes to complete.

During the past 40 years, over 50 million people have benefited from the DiSC model and training tools. DiSC partners and certified trainers form the largest network of HR experts in the whole world – with DiSC certification here it’s your chance to join us!

It’s possible to have a stronger, more efficient work team. What’s the secret? Everything DiSC. This video demonstrates the power of Everything DiSC and the impact it can bring to your company.
