Same message, four ways

25 min4 to 24 peopleEmail printouts

Rewrite for an S style

“Before we change the deadline, here is why, and here is what stays the same for you.”

Debrief question

Which version would you have sent? Why that one?

The activities

Every activity works best after people have their Everything DiSC® report, but most also work with a first estimate from the free DiSC test.

Icebreaker

Style corners

15 minAny size

Label four corners of the room D, i, S and C. Read short work scenarios and ask people to walk to the corner that sounds most like them. Ask each corner why.

Communication

Same message, four ways

25 min4 to 24

Give small groups one real email, for example a deadline change. Each group rewrites it for one style. Compare what changed and why.

Communication

Meeting replay

30 min4 to 16

Pick a recent meeting that went badly. Replay it through DiSC: who needed what, and when did it go wrong? End with one change for the next meeting.

Team

Team map walk

20 min6 to 20

Draw a large DiSC circle on the floor or a wall. Everyone places their dot. Ask what the team does well, and which style is missing when decisions are made.

Team

What drains me

20 min4 to 20

Each style group lists the three things that drain their energy at work. The other groups read the lists and ask questions. Expect a few surprises.

Conflict

Under pressure

25 min4 to 20

Each person writes how they act under pressure and what they need from others in that moment. Pairs of different styles compare notes and agree one signal.

Conflict

Feedback plan

30 minPairs

Each person plans feedback for a colleague with a different style: how to open, what to say first, what to avoid. Practise once and swap.

Leadership

Decision simulation

40 min8 to 24

Groups solve a short case under time pressure while one observer notes who drives, who connects, who checks and who questions. Debrief with the team map.

Closing

One agreement

10 minAny size

Close by asking each person for one thing they will do differently with one specific colleague. Write them down and review them in four weeks.

About DiSC training activities

What is a good DiSC icebreaker?

Style corners works with any group: label four corners D, i, S and C, read short work scenarios and let people walk to the corner that sounds like them. It takes about 15 minutes and gets everyone talking.

Do participants need their DiSC report first?

The activities work best with an Everything DiSC® report, because people can use their exact style and priorities. For a first taste, the free DiSC test gives a quick estimate.

How long should a DiSC workshop be?

A half-day is enough for a team to understand the model, practise adapting and agree one change. A full day leaves room for conflict or leadership topics.

Can I run these activities online?

Yes. Use breakout rooms for small groups and an online whiteboard with a DiSC circle for the team map. Keep activities shorter and add more check-ins.

Need help planning a DiSC session?

Tell us about the team and your goal. We’ll suggest a format and connect you with a certified DiSC trainer if you’d like one.
