How to get the most out of your DiSC profile
Your DiSC® profile is most useful after the workshop, when you meet real situations at work. Here’s how to keep it working for you. Facilitators are welcome to share this page with their participants.
Go back to it
If you took your assessment on Catalyst, your profile doesn’t end with the session. Wiley reports that more than 70% of learners return to the platform to review their style, get communication tips or compare themselves with colleagues. Bookmark it and add a photo so colleagues can find you.
Explore the modules
The Workplace profile is organised in learning modules, covering your style, your colleagues, what drives you, how you relate to other styles and how to build better relationships. Take one at a time rather than reading everything at once.
Share and compare
When you share your results with colleagues, you can see their styles and they can see yours. Comparing styles with a specific colleague gives you concrete tips for working together. A free Comparison Report does the same for any two people.
Try one thing at a time
Pick one action from your profile, for example adapting to how a particular colleague prefers to communicate, and try it for a month. Small, repeated changes stick better than big resolutions.
Know when to open it again
Some moments are especially good for a second look:
- Before a feedback conversation or performance review.
- When a new person joins the team.
- Before a new project starts.
- When the team faces a big change or a conflict.
- When you’re planning a celebration or a thank-you for the team.
Use the shared language
DiSC works best when the whole team uses it. Talking openly about styles, for example “I need a bit more detail before I decide, that’s my C side”, turns the profile into an everyday tool.
