People are the most valuable assets of any organization
DiSC is a simple and memorable model which explains human behaviour.
A DiSC profile is a feedback report on a person’s behavioral style for which one must fill in a questionnaire. DiSC profiles can be used in teams or individually. Learn more about the different DiSC profiles.
Each person has a natural behavioural style
There are no good or bad DiSC behavioural styles; rather, there are good or not so good skills to manage your natural behavioural style.
In some situations, your own natural behavioural style is the best one. In other situations, things don’t go so smoothly and you need to consciously adapt your behaviour – to act in a way that does not come naturally to you.
Once you are familiar with your own and others’ natural behaviour and know how to adapt accordingly, you will be able to work with others better and more effectively. This is exactly what the DiSC tools are for.
What is DiSC?
DiSC Model
DiSC is an acronym that stands for the four main personality dimensions described in the DiSC model:
(D)ominance, (i)nfluence, (S)teadiness and (C)onscientiousness.
80% of people have more than one leading style, which means that human behaviour involves a mix of the four styles, that blend into a unique personality. Style is also influenced by experience, culture and environment.
The DiSC theory was established by Dr. William Marston from Columbia University. It was further developed, among others by Dr. John Geier and Inscape Publishing in cooperation with the University of Minnesota, and now by Everything DiSC (a Wiley brand), which specializes in the creation of development tools and scientific research.
Wiley has been researching and analyzing DiSC for over 40 years. You’ll always know it’s our DiSC from our signature lower-cased “i” in DiSC.
As technology has evolved, DiSC has too.
Our online DiSC assessments use the most advanced assessment method (adaptive testing) and sophisticated algorithms to quickly analyze a person’s responses and provide the most personalized DiSC feedback possible. And the assessments usually only take about 15 minutes to complete.
Over the past 40 years, more than 50 million people have benefited from the DiSC model and training tools. DiSC partners and certified trainers form the largest network of HR experts in the whole world – with DiSC certification here, it’s your chance to join us!
