5 tips to make DiSC training fun and memorable
People rarely remember the slides from a training. They remember what they did, who they talked to and the moment something clicked. These five ideas help your DiSC® sessions stick.
1. Turn part of it into a game
- Guess the style: ask the group to guess the DiSC styles of well-known film or book characters.
- Use one of our three DiSC card games to practise the concepts in small groups.
2. Make it interactive
- Use quick polls or quizzes with tools like Mentimeter, Kahoot or Poll Everywhere.
- Let small groups discuss their styles using real situations from their own work.
- Try short role plays of how styles behave in a meeting or a disagreement.
3. Use real stories
Share examples of styles clashing, or working well together, and invite participants to share their own. Stories show DiSC in action better than any model.
4. Get people moving
- Run DiSC corners: each corner of the room is one style, and people discuss their strengths, frustrations and tips with others who share their style.
- Try the Build the room activity to introduce the styles before profiles are handed out.
- Mix the groups between activities.
5. Make it personal
- Ask each participant to write down one concrete action, using the action page in their profile.
- Pair people with different styles to share how they could work better together. The free Comparison Report helps here.
When people use what they’ve learned in the session itself, they’re far more likely to keep using it afterwards.
