Challenge
Support new leaders and unify leadership practices across a fast-growing global organisation
Solution
A virtual development programme for new managers, with Everything DiSC® on Catalyst™ and The Five Behaviors®
Scale
90 people leads from several countries, 38 virtual sessions, 86 training hours over 10 months
Playtech is the world’s largest provider of online gaming and sports betting software, working with leading operators worldwide. Its rapid global expansion raised a clear question for HR: how can we support our leaders’ growth and make leadership practices consistent across the organisation?
What they did
Together with Playtech’s HR team, our certified training partner Change Partners designed and delivered Playtech’s first global development programme for new managers. Over ten months, 38 virtual sessions and 86 training hours brought together 90 people leads from several countries.
The programme followed a structured series of modules, including:
- My role as a manager
- Understanding myself and my team
- Managerial communication: why, what, when and how
- Building commitment and capability in your team
- Coaching-based leadership
Each module used practical tools: Everything DiSC® on Catalyst™ profiles, Patrick Lencioni’s The Five Behaviors®, and coaching and change management tools, so managers could apply what they learned straight away.
Senior and middle leaders had a separate track on building high-performing teams, strategic thinking, developing other leaders and sponsor-led coaching.
The results

Why it worked
- One programme for every country. Fully virtual and interactive, so every new manager got the same experience wherever they worked.
- From self-awareness to coaching. Managers started with their own style and built up to communication and coaching skills.
- Applied at work. DiSC and the team tools changed day-to-day leadership habits, not only what people knew.
- A new view of the role. The biggest gains came from the moments when managers saw their role differently.
